NOTICE:
The turbocharger compressor vanes can be damaged by
even the smallest particles. When removing any turbocharger or engine
air intake system component, ensure that no debris enters the system.
Failure to do so may result in damage to the turbocharger.
NOTICE:
Special attention needs to be given to the sealing
ports for the oil feed, the oil drain, and the coolant lines, on
turbocharged engines. The sealing ports must be totally clean and free
from O-ring residue, have no damage to the sealing surface and the lines
to ensure that there are no leaks or repeat repairs.

Remove the catalytic converter.
Refer to: Catalytic Converter (309-00A Exhaust System - 1.5L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) – I3 (Y1), Removal and Installation).

Remove the bolts and the nut, then remove the bracket.
LHD AWD/RHD AWD

Remove the power transfer unit.

Remove the bolts, then remove and discard the oil return tube.
Installation

NOTE:
Make sure that new O-ring seals are installed.
Install the new O-ring seals, if not already installed, then lubricate them with clean engine oil.

NOTE:
The oil return tube must be fully seated prior to fastener rundown.

Carefully use a nylon brush to remove the old
O-ring residue, use brake cleaner to rinse the O-ring residue out of the
turbocharger tube O-ring bore. Inspect the area for deep scratches and
gouges. Install new components if needed.

Install the oil return tube, then install and tighten the bolts.

97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Install the power transfer unit.

Install the bracket, then install and tighten the bolts and the nut.
Torque:
35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Install the catalytic converter.

Check and top off the engine oil as needed.

owner’s wallet card in the glove box and
is available from an authorized dealer.
Displaying the Master Access Code
To display the factory-set code in the
information display:

Remove the rubber mat.
Insert the first programmed key in the
backup slot.
Press the push button ignition switch
once and wait a few seconds.
Press the push button ignition switch
again and remove the key.
Within 10 seconds, place a second
programmed intelligent access key in
the backup slot and press the push
button ignition switch.
