Ford Escape: Seatbelt Systems / Removal and Installation - Rear Seatbelt Buckle LH

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the LH rear seat cushion.
    Refer to: Rear Seat Cushion Cover (501-10B Rear Seats, Removal and Installation).

  1. Remove the LH rear seatbelt buckle.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Detach the wiring harness retainer.
    1. Remove the bolt.
      Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Installation

NOTE: During installation, make sure the seatbelt webbing is not twisted and the seatbelts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Check the seatbelt system for correct operation.
    Refer to: Seatbelt System Functional Tests (501-20A Seatbelt Systems, General Procedures).
