Ford Escape: Wipers and Washers / Removal and Installation - Rear Window Wiper Pivot Arm

Special Tool(s) / General Equipment

Two Leg Puller

Removal

  1. Open the rear pivot arm nut cover.
  1. Remove the rear wiper pivot arm nut.
  1. Remove the rear wiper pivot arm.
    Use the General Equipment: Two Leg Puller

Installation


  1. Verify the rear window wiper motor is in the PARK position.
    1. Turn the ignition ON
    1. Operate the switch ON then OFF to cycle the rear window wiper motor.
    1. Turn the ignition OFF.

  1. Install the rear wiper pivot arm.
    1. Align the wiper blade with the mark on the glass.
    1. Install the rear wiper pivot arm nut.
      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
  1. Close the rear wiper pivot arm nut cover.
