Ford Escape: Supplemental Climate Control / Removal and Installation - Cabin Coolant Heater

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the RH fender splash shield.
    Refer to: Fender Splash Shield (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).

    1. Remove the retainer and the ground wire.
      Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
    1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    1. Detach the wiring harness routing clips and position aside.

    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Detach the wiring harness routing clips and position aside.
  1. Disconnect the coolant hoses.
  1. Remove the retainers and position the valve assembly aside.
    Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

    • Detach the wiring harness routing clips and position aside.
    • Remove the retainers and the cabin coolant heater.
      Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to the appropriate procedure in Group 303.
