Ford Escape: Climate Control System - General Information / Removal and Installation - Evaporator

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the heater core.
    Refer to: Heater Core (412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the seal.
  1. Remove the screws and the thermostatic expansion valve.
    Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
  1. Remove the seal.
  1. Remove the screws, release all the retaining tabs and remove the evaporator cover.
    1. Remove the evaporator.
    1. Detach the evaporator tempreature sensor.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
