Ford Escape: Body Closures / Removal and Installation - Front Door

Door Lift

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.

  1. Open the door.
  1. Remove the check arm bolt.
    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
  1. Disconnect the door electrical connectors.
  1. Remove the bolts.
    Use the General Equipment: Door Lift
    Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
  1. Remove the door.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Check the alignment and correct if necessary.
    Refer to: Front Door Alignment (501-03 Body Closures, General Procedures).
