Ford Escape: Evaporative Emissions / Removal and Installation - Fuel Tank Isolation Valve - Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)

Removal

  WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an evaporative emission (EVAP) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures may be present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Remove the fuel vapor vent valve.
   Refer to: Fuel Vapor Vent Valve - Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) (303-13C Evaporative Emissions, Removal and Installation).
   

1. • Disconnect the electrical connector.
     
   • Disconnect the quick release couplings.
     Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00 Fuel System - General Information - 2.5L Duratec – Hybrid (121kW/164PS) (BG)) .
     
   • Remove the isolation valve.
     

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
