Ford Escape: Evaporative Emissions / Removal and Installation - Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor and Tube - Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)

Removal

  WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an evaporative emission (EVAP) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures may be present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation steps.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
   Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
   

1. Disconnect the battery.
   Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
   

1. • Detach the retainers.
     
   • Disconnect the electrical connector.
     
   • Disconnect the quick release couplings and remove the fuel tank pressure sensor and tube.
     Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00C Fuel System - General Information, General Procedures).
     

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
