Ford Escape: Front End Body Panels / Removal and Installation - Hood

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the retainers and the hood insulation.

    1. Detach the windshield washer hose coupling.
    1. Detach the retainers and position aside the windshield washer hose from the hood.
  1. On both sides.
    Index-mark the hood hinge location to aid in hood installation.
  1. NOTE: An assistant is necessary for the support and removal of the hood.

    Remove the nuts and the hood.
    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Check the hood alignment. Align the hood as necessary.
    Refer to: Hood Alignment (501-03 Body Closures, General Procedures).
