Ford Escape: Pedestrian Alert System / Removal and Installation - Pedestrian Alert System Speaker

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Front Pedestrian Alert System Speaker

  1. Remove the front bumper cover.
    Refer to: Front Bumper Cover (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector and wire guide clip.
    1. Remove the screw.
      Torque: 35 lb.in (4 Nm)
    1. Release the clips and remove the front pedestrian alert system speaker.

Rear pedestrian alert system speaker

    1. Remove the push pins.
    1. Remove the screws and the deflector shield.
      Torque: 17 lb.in (1.9 Nm)
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Release the wiring guides and position aside the wiring harness.
    1. Remove the bolt.
      Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
    1. Remove the nuts and the rear pedestrian alert system speaker.
      Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
