Removal
-
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

Remove the air cleaner.
Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12C Intake Air Distribution and Filtering, Removal and Installation).

Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.
-
Disconnect the wiring harness retainer.
-
Disconnect the transmission cooler tubes retainer.
-
Remove the bolts and disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission.
-
Inspect the transmission to be sure the transmission
fluid tube seals and backing rings were removed with the transmission
fluid tubes and are not stuck in the transmission. If the transmission
fluid tube seals or backing rings are stuck in the transmission, remove
the seals and backing rings.

Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the fluid cooler and remove the cooler tube assembly.

Remove the bolts and the ransmission fluid auxiliary pump inlet tube
-
Inspect the transmission to be sure the transmission
fluid tube seals and backing rings were removed with the transmission
fluid tubes and are not stuck in the transmission. If the transmission
fluid tube seals or backing rings are stuck in the transmission, remove
the seals and backing rings.
Installation

Inspect the transmission fluid auxiliary pump tube
backing rings and seals for damage and install new backing rings or
seals if necessary.

Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the transmission and install the bolt.
Torque:
80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Install the cooler tube assembly and connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the fluid cooler.
-
Inspect the transmission fluid cooler tube assembly
backing rings and seals for damage and install new backing rings or
seals if necessary.

Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the transmission and install the bolts.
Torque:
1:
18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
2:
80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Connect the transmission cooler tubes retainer.
-
Connect the wiring harness retainer.
-
Install the underbody shield and the retainers.
-
Install the air cleaner.
Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12C Intake Air Distribution and Filtering, Removal and Installation).

Prime the Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Pump.
-
Key ON, Engine OFF.
-
Using the scan tool, command AUX_TLF_PMP to 80% for
30 seconds. If the pump cannot be commanded on, verify TFT is above 38ºC
(100ºF).
-
Clear DTCs.
-
Check the transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary.
