Ford Escape: Bumpers / Removal and Installation - Front Bumper

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Remove the front bumper cover.
   Refer to: Front Bumper Cover (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Remove the push pins, release the tabs and remove the upper radiator air deflector.
   Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

1. Remove the push pins, release the tabs and remove the lower radiator air deflector.
   Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

1. 1. Disconnect the horn electrical connector.
      
   2. On both sides.
      Remove the bolts and the horn and bracket assembly.
      Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

1. Separate the wiring harness guides and position aside the wiring harness.
   

1. Separate the wiring harness guides and position aside the wiring harness.
   

1. Remove the cooling module.
   Refer to: Cooling Module (303-03A Engine Cooling - 1.5L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) – I3 (Y1), Removal and Installation).
   Refer to: Cooling Module (303-03C Engine Cooling, Removal and Installation).
   Refer to: Cooling Module (303-03B Engine Cooling - 2.0L EcoBoost (177kW/240PS) – MI4, Removal and Installation).
   

1. With the help of an assistant.
   Remove the bolts, the nuts and the front bumper.
   Torque: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
