Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

All vehicles

  1. Remove the lower arm.
    Refer to: Lower Arm (204-01 Front Suspension, Removal and Installation).

Vehicles with all other engines (Neo, , 2.0L GTDI, Panther)

  1. NOTE: Mark position of the component before removal.

    Index mark the lower arm bushing and the special tool for reference during installation.
    Install Special Service Tool: 204-833  Remover/Installer, Bushing Lower Arm.
  1. NOTE: Mark position of the component before removal.

    Index mark the lower arm bushing and the special tool for reference during installation.
    Install Special Service Tool: 204-833  Remover/Installer, Bushing Lower Arm.
  1. Using the the hydraulic press and suitable tools, remove the lower arm bushing.
    Install Special Service Tool: 204-833  Remover/Installer, Bushing Lower Arm. , 204-830  Remover/Installer, Bushing Lower Arm.
    Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press
    Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block

Vehicles with 1.5L Dragon GTDI engines

  1. NOTE: Mark position of the component before removal.

    Index mark the lower arm bushing and the special tool for reference during installation.
    Install Special Service Tool: 204-834  Remover/Installer, Front Lower Arm Bushing.
  1. NOTE: Mark position of the component before removal.

    Index mark the lower arm bushing and the special tool for reference during installation.
    Install Special Service Tool: 204-834  Remover/Installer, Front Lower Arm Bushing.
  1. Using the the hydraulic press and suitable tools, remove the lower arm bushing.
    Install Special Service Tool: 204-834  Remover/Installer, Front Lower Arm Bushing. , 204-830  Remover/Installer, Bushing Lower Arm.
    Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press
    Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block

Installation

Vehicles with all other engines (Neo, , 2.0L GTDI, Panther)

  1. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component to the LH side.

    NOTE: Make sure that the installation marks are aligned.

    NOTE: Install in the same position as the original component.

    Using the the hydraulic press and suitable tools, install the lower arm bushing.
    Install Special Service Tool: 204-833  Remover/Installer, Bushing Lower Arm. , 204-830  Remover/Installer, Bushing Lower Arm.
    Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press
    Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block
  1. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component to the RH side.

    NOTE: Make sure that the installation marks are aligned.

    NOTE: Install in the same position as the original component.

    Using the the hydraulic press and suitable tools, install the lower arm bushing.
    Install Special Service Tool: 204-833  Remover/Installer, Bushing Lower Arm. , 204-830  Remover/Installer, Bushing Lower Arm.
    Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press
    Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block

Vehicles with 1.5L Dragon GTDI engines

  1. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component to the LH side.

    NOTE: Make sure that the installation marks are aligned.

    NOTE: Install in the same position as the original component.

    Using the the hydraulic press and suitable tools, install the lower arm bushing.
    Install Special Service Tool: 204-834  Remover/Installer, Front Lower Arm Bushing. , 204-830  Remover/Installer, Bushing Lower Arm.
    Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press
    Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block
  1. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component to the RH side.

    NOTE: Make sure that the installation marks are aligned.

    NOTE: Install in the same position as the original component.

    Using the the hydraulic press and suitable tools, install the lower arm bushing.
    Install Special Service Tool: 204-834  Remover/Installer, Front Lower Arm Bushing. , 204-830  Remover/Installer, Bushing Lower Arm.
    Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press

  1. Install the lower arm.
